Biography

Niké was born in Nice, but her home is the World. She lived and studied in Australia, England, France, Hong Kong end Italy. Niké inherited the love for the Arts from her Italian father, a brilliant diplomatic, musician and artist and her mother, an Australian ballerina.
Her complex and challenging art works of about a 100 etching's, among which "360° Panoramic " are original interpretations and architectural proof of more then two millennium of history of Rome.
She engraves the cooper plates of notable sizes, with skill and audacious technique. With the use of etching needles and aquatint she animates humanity and the solemn monuments that dominate the eternal city. Here the artist playfully expresses in her particularl way the relationship between the passing of the present and the immortality of the past. Niké avoids any classicism which her subjects could tempt her to follow. Her detachment from the common places and her sensitive originality affirms the personality of this courageous artist and raises her among the great interpreter's of the Roman world. From Nice she transfered to Australia, the country of her mother, Eleanora Cox. In Sydney she finished her studies with an art course with Justin O’Brien. At 18 she returned to Europe and worked as a mannequin in Paris at Balenciaga and Nina Ricci. In London she studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, acted in the theatre and films in London, Paris and Rome.
After her marriage with Prince Paolo Borghese in Hong Kong she dedicated herself to Art and sometimes to the family. In 1982 they returned to Italy. Niké’s works include a series of etchings of Hong Kong, Rome and Venice and oil paintings and drawings. She has had exhibitions in Australia., Italy, England, Hong Kong , Japan and Turkey where many of her works have remained in museums and private collections.
In 2007 Niké wrote a piece for orchestra "Tsunami" 8 musical pictures, performed in the Sala Paolo Borghese in Artena.
She dedicates herself also to helping the Association "Tuluiele Bantu" O.N.L.U.S. for the promotion and defence of man's rights in Africa.
Last but not least her love for nature; she helps abandoned animals and tries to save trees from urbanization.
